Why do people hate the Confederate flag?

the fact is that many of you if not all don't even know what the confederate flag is or stands for, when some one says confederate flag yall think of the flag the kkk waves around. that flag is the confederate navy jack not the battle flag the battle flag is square. the south fought the war over mainly states rights and taxes. THE WAR WAS NO ABOUT SLAVERY!!!!!! do your home work and you will find out abe lincoln did not free a single slave with the emancipation proclamation, he just wanted to end the war as fast as he could he wanted to sent the slaves back to africa. i know many black people who fly the confederate flag with pride. as all southerns should do and dont get mad when people question you do your homework and educate them. the flag is about being proud of where your from its just like a new yorker wearing a 'i love ny' shirt. and the south had every right to succeed from the union and any state still has that right its sin the constitution. the south succeeding had more legal standing than the forming of America as its own country from Britain. so now that you know some of the facts the question still remains. why do people hate the Confederate flag?
