My Scion tC clutch pedal is squeaking. whats wrong and how can i fix it (and price)?

I was teaching my friend how to drive stick (slowly pulling out the clutch in first, no gas, to slowly move) and then 3 hours later as im off to drive again i hear this squeaking. Now, usually the clutch would squeak only audible to the outside, but now it is very loud on the inside and it happens every time i let go off the clutch relatively quickly (2-5th gear, sometimes first)... I don't have much money and im pretty scared something might be seriously wrong. i.e. messed up clutch = $3,000 eh?
