Bright yellow lights in the sky? What did I see?

Sounds like you were looking at satellites. They move across the sky faster than stars, and some can be very bright from reflecting the Sun off solar panels. They fade after ping into the shadow of the Earth, usually before hitting the horizon. They are very common; there are thousands of satellites up there in orbit.
