How do I know this Virgo dad likes me?

I'm a Capricorn just started seeing a Virgo. He's greatly attentive, he compliments me and has told me about he blvs his family would really like me (they didn't care for his exes) when and if we ever met. Last time I saw him, he opened up and told me "i've been thinking what the future holds for us" and stopped there bcs he got shy and let me wear a sentimental ring of his with a promise I'd give it back the next time we see eachother. That was Thursday. Beginning Friday was his week with his kids and I haven't heard a thing from him. I know he's a great dad thru our talks and I'm trying to be real patient and not call and be needy. I respect the fact that his kids come first during this time. I mean I will see him again, if he wants the ring back. (btw, the ring came from his sisters' wedding, 2 years ago, which he told me, it means a lot and that has rarely has ever taken it off since, so i feel special) I've never dated a dad before, so i don't know, is it too early to worry???
