How do I replace a tub spout with a 1 inch adapter soldered onto the copper nipple?

I have a copper nipple with a 1 inch diameter br adapter soldered onto it. The old Delta brand spout fits right onto this, but it leaks. I've been to Menards, Home Depot and Hardware Hank with no help from any of them. The universal spout repair kits are only made for 1/2 and 3/4. In the end, I put the old leaky spout back on so that my family can still shower. Anyone know much about this 1 inch problem? Do they make spouts for 1 inch ?
