Return to work after hip operation.?

It seems to me that your HR person was avoiding the issue by ping it off onto the store manager. I am staggered that either would think that they can treat you as doubtful when your doctors have ped you as fit. After all there is no risk to the firm if you have evidence to support your ability to work normally. I would go and see HR again, take any doentation that shows you are ok, and put it to them that you feel it is a form of discrimination. Ask them to tell you exactly why they are refusing to reinstate you. If it is 'for your own good' explain that's what doctors are for, to decide exactly that. You need to take a witness in with you and you should also be in a trade union. Stay cool and polite as this will avoid you being distracted. If you get nowhere ask to see the HR person from Head Office or the Group Manager.
